La Colmena

Design of the applied graphics for the shop window of the La Colmena pastry shop during the contest 2021 Christmas season, as part of the “Els llums de Nadal il·luminen el comerç” (Christmas Lights Illuminate Commerce), promoted by Barcelona Centre de Disseny.

Project realized in group with Elisabet Català, Maria Reig, Lucia-Aran Garrido and Maria Jou.
An optical illusion achieved through the play and positioning of various mirrors, designed to toy with the mind as if it were a magic trick. It will evoke feelings of fascination, uncertainty, and unease about everything we currently consider infinite and real.

Like an ancient secret, the vinyl leaves four small openings: three of them allow observers to peer into the carefully hidden space and lose themselves in it, while the fourth projects a beam of light.

This is a space that demands to be observed, aiming to capture the attention of all who pass by, thanks to a strong interior light that projects outward, dazzling its surroundings.

The installation seeks to provoke thought and reflection on the representation of reality or what we perceive as familiar—the reflection as a mimesis of the real world, the fine line separating the real from the unreal, and the vastness of space through repetition.
